To understand 1) the synthesis, processing and uptake of the main lipoprotein classes, 2) the role of the various factors involved in the metabolism of the various lipoprotein classes, 3) the role of the various lipoprotein classes in atherosclerosis development, and 4) the rationale of targeting novel proteins in experimental lipid-targeted therapies aimed to improve atherogenic dyslipidemia.
This presentation will introduce the main players in lipoprotein metabolism and the main therapeutic targets that are currently being investigated in lipid-targeted therapies aimed to improve atherogenic dyslipidemia.
